Painting as Energy, Structure, and Emotional Space Patrick Joosten constructs a body of work rooted in the expressive possibilities of abstraction, where painting becomes a field of tension rather than representation. His practice is driven by a fundamental question:
how can color and gesture translate invisible states of energy? Working with layered compositions, dynamic brushwork, and dense chromatic interactions, his paintings evoke organic movement, atmospheric depth, and a sense of controlled spontaneity. Rather than illustrating forms, his work proposes visual environments spaces in which perception is destabilized and reconfigured.
